California Healthy Cities and Communities

California Healthy Cities and Communities is a program of the Center for Civic Partnerships which is part of the Public Health Institute. For the past 23 years, the Center has provided assistance and support to over 75 cities and communities throughout California to undertake community health improvement initiatives. These communities of various sizes, demographics and civic personalities have been leaders in creating healthier environments.  Using a variety of community-driven strategies, they have curtailed exposure to tobacco, increased opportunities for physical activity and better nutrition, and improved public safety.
