Contact us today to ask how we can help you with your planning and implementation needs.

Many times, organizations are so busy implementing mission driven efforts and programs that it is difficult to find time to plan past the initial funding received. Based upon over 10 years of experience in sustainability planning, we recommend that sustainability planning begin early in any endeavor and be woven throughout the implementation process. We provide a variety of customized training and consultation services to help groups develop, implement and sustain community improvements. We have created a user-friendly, 10-step planning process and toolkit that is easily adaptable for small or large groups, organizations or collaboratives. For more information on the Sustainability Toolkit, click here.
Specific areas where we can help are:
- Training groups to use the 10-step process
- Consultation and facilitation throughout the sustainability planning process
- Sustainability plan development and implementation
The Center contracted with a consultant to interview past sustainability clients and workshop participants to determine the long-term impact of their sustainability work. Findings include:
- Sustainability training was very useful in the short-run for sustainability planning and in the long-run for changing organizational culture and creating valuable community resources.
- Those who used the Sustainability Toolkit found it to be an incredibly valuable and accessible resource.
Feedback from interviewees included:
- "I thought what are they going to tell me about sustainability that we don't already know? I was very surprised at how useful the workshop really was. I saw that there was an even more logical and structured way to see what should and should not be continued."
- "Part of the sustainability process is figuring out who's going to do what. By working through the steps of the sustainability process, people have to step up and figure out what they're going to do. The sustainability process is great at creating better accountability among groups in a partnership."
- "I'm a big fan. You go to a lot of workshops and get a lot of binders, but this is one that comes off my shelf a lot."
The Center for Civic Partnerships has provided sustainability training and consultation throughout California and nationwide. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss how the sustainability process, materials and consultation might be of benefit to your organization or community.

Priority Setting
We often find ourselves with our plate overflowing. How do we determine what are the most important things that we should continue doing? How can we be sure that we are producing the impact that we desire? Priority setting processes can be helpful not only to decisions-making, but also to encourage a variety of people to participate in the process and ensure organizational buy-in. While there are several priority setting methods you can use, The Center for Civic Partnerships can assist you with:
- Facilitation and consensus building
- Developing criteria by which you can evaluate and analyze your work
- Building internal staff skills around priority setting processes
Priority setting assistance can be provided in several ways, including large and small group facilitation. We have found in our work that priority setting is an excellent first step to any planning process which helps groups to focus and improve in the areas which are most closely aligned with mission and which will likely have the largest impact.
