AgeLab
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AgeLab was created in 1999 to invent new ideas and creatively translates technologies into practical solutions that improve people’s health and enable them to “do things” throughout the lifespan.

Asociacion Nacional Pro Personas Mayores (National Association for Hispanic Elderly)
Committed to achieving social change by focusing on the needs of low-income minority and Hispanic older persons, thus impacting the Hispanic community and the nation as a whole.

California Association of Area Agencies on Aging
The association is an advocate for meeting the needs of the elderly and adults with disabilities, with the purpose to implement the provisions and intent of the Older Americans Act and the Older Californians Act.

California Commission on Aging
Serves as the principal advocate in the state on behalf of older individuals, including, but not limited to, advisory participation in the consideration of all legislation and regulations made by state and federal departments and agencies relating to programs and services that affect older individuals.

California Department of Aging
Administers programs that serve older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long-term care facilities throughout the State, and administers funds allocated under the federal Older Americans Act, the Older Californians Act, and through the Medi-Cal program.

California Foundation for Independent Living Centers 
Envisions civil rights for all people with disabilities, and supports independent living centers in their local communities through advocating for systems change and promoting access and integration for people with disabilities.

Center for Disease Control – Healthy Aging

Center for Retirement Research

National Academy on an Aging Society 
A non-partisan public policy institute, that actively conducts and compiles research on issues related to population aging and provides information to the public, the press, policymakers, and the academic community.

National Asian Pacific Center on Aging 
Serves as the nations leading advocacy organization committed to the dignity, well-being, and quality of life of Asian Pacific Americans (APA) in their senior years.

National Association of Area Agencies on Aging N4A
Provides advocacy, training and technical assistance to Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) and supports the national network of 650 AAAs and 240 Title VI Native American aging programs.

National Caucus and Center on Black Aged
Works to eliminate obstacles to fairness and equal access for one of the most underserved and vulnerable groups in our society – low-income black and minority senior citizens, and focuses on three of the most critical needs: housing, employment and health promotion/disease prevention.

National Council on the Aging
A national voice for older adults – especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged -- and the community organizations that serve them.

National Indian Council on Aging 
A national organization that advocates for improved, comprehensive health and social services to American Indian and Alaska Native Elders.

National Institute on Aging 
Leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life.

Older Americans Act 2006
Reflects the nation’s commitment to ensure the dignity and independence of our older citizens by promoting older Americans’ full participation in society, and supporting their overwhelming desire to remain living in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.

Older Women's League
The only national grassroots membership organization that focuses exclusively on issues unique to midlife and older women as they age; accomplishes its work through research, education, and advocacy activities conducted through a nationwide chapter network.

Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers (RERC)

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Technologies
A collaborative research group dedicated to the development of effective AAC technology. Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) refers to ways (other than speech) that are used to send a message from one person to another.  

Blindness and Visual Impairment
The Center develops new technology and methods for understanding, assessment and rehabilitation of blindness and visual impairment, targeting persons who are blind, visually impaired, and deaf-blind.

Hearing Impairment
The Center addresses accessibility problems of hard-of-hearing individuals by developing and evaluating cost-effective technological aids for the various groups of people with hearing loss according to their needs (e.g. people with moderate hearing losses, people with severe or profound hearing losses, young children, older adults and people with both vision and hearing loss).

Technology Accessibility & Usability
The Center focuses on accessibility and usability of current and emerging information technologies, including access to information content in its various forms, as well as access to interfaces used within content and by electronic technologies in general.

UC Berkeley Center for Advanced Studies of Aging Services
Center for Social Services Research at the UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare: Research for the Advancement of Social Services; we provide research publications and resources for social issues, including family and child welfare, to inform policymakers, caregivers and social researchers.

UC Berkeley Resource Center on Aging 
Serves as a clearinghouse for information on aging activities both on and off campus, maintains affiliations with organizations in aging which provide resources for field research and current information on issues in aging in the community and disseminates information on education, research, grants, publications, fellowships, internships, job opportunities and community resources in aging.

UC Davis Center for Healthy Aging 
Provides leadership in developing programs and coordinating activities to achieve its mission of improving health and quality of life for all older individuals in the region, including information on resources for older adults and their families.

UCLA Center for Health Policy Research
A leading health policy research center and the premier source of health policy information for California, the Center seeks to improve the public’s health by advancing health policy through research, public service, community partnership, and education.

This is an official informational web site listing a broad array of resources for older adults.

White House Conference on Aging (2005)
Makes recommendations to the President and Congress to help guide national aging policies for the next ten years and beyond, the 2005 Conference, which had as its theme: “The Booming Dynamics of Aging: From Awareness to Action, ” focused on the aging of today and tomorrow, including 78 million baby boomers who began to turn 60 in January 2006.
